Drone Crop Mapping and Stand Counts in MN and ND
See where your crop varies with RGB imagery, multispectral mapping, and supported stand counts. Serving Minnesota and North Dakota growers.
Kevin Vaadeland leads our precision-ag and drone work using a DJI Mavic 3 Multispectral. We are a father-son company based in Park Rapids, Minnesota.
Choose the drone service for your field question
Agricultural drone mapping can answer different questions. We agree on the service and suitable timing for your crop before flying.
Stand counts and emergence analysis
- Plant population and crop emergence analysis help compare stands and locate stand variability.
- Drone stand counts are available only where crop, growth stage, and analytic requirements support them. We confirm suitability before quoting.
RGB crop mapping
- High-resolution visual field imagery gives scouting context and a view of spatial patterns across a field.
- Compare areas and organize field imagery for management discussions.
Multispectral and plant-health mapping
- Multispectral crop imagery highlights relative crop variability and plant-response patterns.
- Plant health mapping helps locate areas to investigate; the map does not diagnose the cause by itself.
Repeat-flight monitoring
- Compare field or crop-condition changes over time, including canopy progression through the season.
- Flight timing and conditions affect comparisons. We plan repeat visits around the field question and crop stage.
Drone imagery identifies spatial variability and areas worth scouting. Field checks and agronomic context are needed to determine the cause; imagery alone does not diagnose a nutrient, disease, pest, or other agronomic problem.
From flight to field discussion
Agree on the field question and suitable flight timing, plan and capture imagery, process the images, review maps and supported analytics, discuss interpretation and ground checks, and deliver agreed reports and map files. Prescription-map examples show a possible later workflow requiring additional agronomic checks, not an automatic recommendation from imagery alone.
Deliverables matched to your quote
Deliverables depend on the quoted service. We agree on the imagery, analytics, reporting, and delivery format before the flight. Not every output is included in every job.
- RGB or multispectral field imagery for the agreed flight
- Mapped analytics, such as variability maps or stand-count results, where supported and quoted
- Field summaries and PDF interpretation or reporting where agreed
- Interactive imagery access where applicable to the quoted service
Common questions
Can you count stands in any crop?
Only where the crop, growth stage, and analytic requirements support it. We confirm suitability before quoting; a stand-count map does not explain the cause of uneven emergence.
Does plant-health imagery tell me what is wrong?
Drone imagery identifies spatial variability and areas worth scouting. Field checks and agronomic context are needed to determine the cause; imagery alone does not diagnose a nutrient, disease, pest, or other agronomic problem.
Do you offer repeat flights?
Yes. Repeat flights can help compare crop-condition changes and canopy progression through the season. Timing and flight conditions need to suit the comparison.
What will I receive?
Deliverables depend on the quoted service. We agree on the imagery, analytics, reporting, and delivery format before the flight. Not every output is included in every job. Possible outputs include imagery, mapped analytics, stand-count results, field summaries, interactive imagery access, or PDF reporting where applicable.
Can imagery become a prescription?
Not on its own. Prescription development is a separate scope that requires field checks and agronomic judgment; it is not automatically included in a drone mapping job.
How do I request a drone mapping quote?
Start with field location, approximate acres, crop, service of interest, and timing. If you are unsure which flight or service fits, Kevin can help determine the appropriate approach before quoting the work.
